Having stayed up all night setting up my equipment, i decided to start shooting with my 80mm refractor around 4.30am for the beginning of the lunar eclipse. The weather was holding up but around 4.45am the cloud rolled in and i mean thick cloud everywhere. To be honest this really annoyed me as i was getting some good images. So this was the last image before it was completely white.

I quite like the image though, it’s a single image edited in photoshop and shot with a Nikon d7000 and a Celestron c80ed telescope on an heq5 mount.

Oh well better luck next time! The joys of astrophotography 🙂
